The first option in the Main Menu provides the capability to both
establish new portfolios and rename existing portfolios. When you
first initialize your data base a default portfolio named "Main" is
established. Many individuals will find that this one portfolio is
sufficient for maintaining their financial data. You may however,
want to consider establishing additional portfolios so that your
finances can be tracked separately. For instance, you may wish to
establish a separate portfolio for tracking your tax deferred IRA
investments or investments of your spouse or children. Note that
reports can be generated for both individual portfolios and
combinations of portfolios.
There is a maximum of thirty portfolios per data base.
After selecting this option from the main menu, the "PORTFOLIO UPDATE
MENU" screen will appear listing the following options.

Select the desired option using the arrow keys on your keyboard.
Execute the selected option by pressing the return key. These
options are described below.
Create a Portfolio
You will select this option when you wish to add a portfolio to your
data base. After selecting this option, a data entry screen will
appear requesting that you enter the name of your new portfolio.
Portfolio names may be up to 25 characters long. Once you have
entered the name, you will be asked to verify your entry by typing
"Y" or given the opportunity to correct your entry by typing "N".
Once you have verified your entry, the system checks your other
portfolio names to insure that you have not made a duplicate entry.
If your entry duplicates a previously named portfolio, an error
message will appear advising you of this fact. Otherwise you will be
returned to the portfolio update menu.

Rename a Portfolio
As the name implies, this option is used to rename an existing
portfolio. After selecting this option, your existing portfolio
names will be displayed in a menu from which you will select the
portfolio which you wish to rename. A data entry screen will appear
displaying the old portfolio name and requesting that you enter a new
name. After you have entered and verified the new name, the system
checks that the name entered does not duplicate any existing
portfolio names and prints an error message if a duplication is
found.
